Augie was my heart dog - my family, my constant, and one of the greatest loves of my life. When he became critically ill in January 2022, the life we knew disappeared almost overnight. Suddenly, love meant learning how to care for him in a body that no longer worked the way it once had.

It meant medications, sleepless nights, difficult decisions, constant adaptation, and celebrating progress most people would never notice. Day by day, I rebuilt our life around his comfort, dignity, and joy - because he was still Augie, and his life was still worth living fully.

What began as a promise to one dog became knowledge I could not allow to end with him.
